A week after defeat in front of Real Madrid in the Spanish capital derby, Atletico Madrid crushed Deportivo La Coruna in a match in witch Radamel Falcao has made history.
The Colombian striker has become the first player of Atletico Madrid to score 5 goals in a game in the Primera Division. Moreover, he’s the first player from Fernando Morientes to now who scores five times in a championship match. In 2012, Falcao has scored 47 goals for his club and national football team.
With 7 wins in 7 league matches on Vicente Calderon, Diego Simeone his players opened the score in the middle of the first half. Diego Costa scored with the head from the small box, after a corner kick.
Five minutes later, Falcao began his recital. El Tigre scored for the first time on the counterattack. With three minutes before the break, Falcao scored the best goal of the game with a powerful shot from outside the box.
20 minutes after the interval, Falcao obtained and converted a penalty, leading the score to 4-0. After 3 minutes, the Colombian scored again. Aranzubia rejected Arda Turan’s shot and Falcao scored with the head from diving. Atletico striker scored and the last goal of the match. In minute 71, after having avoided the opponents’ attacks, defeated Aranzubia with a low shot from the edge of the small box.
With 16 goals in 15 fixtures, Falcao overtook Cristiano Ronaldo in the top scorers table, and Atletico won the first match after two consecutive defeats, suffered in La Liga and in UEFA Europa League.
