The Argentinian striker said after yesterday’s victory over Catania that all teams are more motivated when they face the champion of Serie A, and play much better.
Although at first glance seem like an easy match for Juventus when they traveled to Catania, was not so. The Old Lady has just managed to win 1-0, with Carlos Tevez goal after an hour of play, this despite the hosts played in 10 men.
After the game from yesterday, the footballer transferred from Manchester City claimed that all teams play better when they meet the Italy’s champion, and have extra motivation to get a good result against Juve.
“It was a difficult game, Catania were very aggressive,” Tevez told the club’s official website. “It was a real battle out there, but everyone who plays Juventus clearly wants to win against us.”
The Bianconeri lead with authority the championship in Italy, and only a miracle can make Juventus not to win another title in Serie A. Despite this, Tevez said they will keep the focus on the championship, and only then to the Europa League, a competition in which are qualified for the quarterfinals, where they will meet Lyon.
“We now need to treat each of our remaining league games as finals,” continued the Argentine. “After that we’ll start thinking about how we’re going to tackle the Europa League.”
