Manchester United’s coach appeals to fans at Old Trafford to encourage the team in the return game with Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League last 16.
Difficult task for the Red Devils in tomorrow’s match at Old Trafford against Olympiakos. The Premier League grouping has to overturne a 0-2 deficit recorded two weeks ago in the game in Greece.
In the last league match United suffered a shameful defeat against great rival Liverpool (0-3), fans present at the stadium seeing another disappointing performance from the favorite team. Now Moyes requires their support in tomorrow’s match, sustaining that his team has the power to obtain the qualification.
“The players are capable of turning it around. We’re all desperate to put things right and make sure we play better to give the supporters here something to shout about.” the Scot told United official website.
“They shouted [against Liverpool] and we didn’t give them anything on the field. When we went to Greece, the Olympiakos fans played their part so hopefully our fans will roar us on.
“We won’t be reckless as we could find ourselves with a bigger mountain to climb but we can be forceful. We have to be if we’re to keep ourselves in the Champions League.”
This match is extremely important to David Moyes. United is only seventh in the Premier League standings, with little chance to get a place in the top four. In case of elimination, Manchester will go toward a disastrous season for the club, especially if do not catch a Champions League place at the end of the season.
