Bayern qualified for the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals last night after 3-1 on aggregate to Arsenal. In two matches Arjen Robben won two penalties, Arsene Wenger accusing the Dutch that knows how to dive very well.
If prior to the clash between Bayern Munich and Arsenal we expected the Bavarians to move forward, this was confirmed by the results. The group led by Guardiola won 2-0 in the first round at the Emirates, and in yesterday’s game drew 1-1 at home.
In the 180 minutes were awarded three penalties, all missed! The Bayern’s both were obtained by Robben, the one from the first leg drawing and elimination of Wojciech Szczesny.
If at the end of the game from two weeks ago French tactician has limited to object to the referee’s decision to award the penalty and elimination, after the match from yesterday Wenger threw and sent some arrows to the Dutch footballer.
“Robben is very good at getting the maximum of nothing. He is a great player, but also a good diver. He gets past the player, then he actually slows down, looking for the foul.” Wenger said after the game.
Immediately came and Robben’s answer, one much tougher than we had expected…
“I always say if you are a big manager then take your loss,” Robben said. “If you win be happy, enjoy, but if you lose don’t, complain about silly things.”
“It was two penalties but I don’t want to defend myself. From a big manager you expect a little bit more.” he added.
