One of the most wanted defender in European football, the Brazilian Thiago Silva, has revealed that the voted the Argentine star Leo Messi for the Ballon d’Or, but said that if would has the the chance to choose again, it would be another option.
Although he hadn’t a season as good as the previous, the holder of the Ballon d’Or still has plenty of supporters. The Barcelona star continues to hope that will win for the 5th time the highest distinction at individual level, but the battle will be tough in the company of Franck Ribery and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The defender bought by PSG from AC Milan, and wanted in several occasions by Barcelona, Thiago Silva, spoke to Canal Football Club about his choice for the 2013 Ballon d’Or.
“I voted for Messi, but that before tobe injured. If I may still vote again, I would change this election and because of Leo’s absence from the field. While not contest with anything his value, on strict this season, Ribery and Cristiano Ronaldo have become favorites, because Leo can not play,” said the Brazilian footballer.
The Ballon d’Or award show will take place on January 13, 2014, in a gala to be held in Zurich.
