Gervinho’s fate will be decided this week. The Italian media claims that Arsenal’s footballer will sign with AS Roma in the coming days.
The Ivorian international from Arsene Wenger’s squad has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Serie A club in recent months. But the Gunners did not want to give up too easily, after that the player was brought in 2011 from Lille for € 12 million.
The 26 year old footballer has managed to shine at the Emirates, and now the Premier League grouping tries to save a part of the amount they spent to bring him at Arsenal. A first offer of € 7.2 million was denied by the Gunners’ heads, who was rumored that want at least 8 million.
The Giallorossi’s sporting director Walter Sabatini, finally received permission to negotiate with the player’s agent, for which will make a visit to London in the coming days to negotiate the final details of the contract, and of course the final price of the transaction.
The Ivorian footballer worked with new tactician of Roma, Rudi Garcia, during his time at Lille, where they won together the title in Ligue 1 in 2011. This might be one of the decisive reasons for the player to choose this move, considering the good relationship they had the two on the team in France.
From a total of 63 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, last season Gervinho has checked only 26. In all of his plays for the team from Emirates, the Ivorian scored 11 times and provided 13 assists.
