Jurgen Klopp has announced that Mats Hummels and Marco Reus could be recovered for tonight’s game in the DFB-Pokal, where Borussia Dortmund will play against 1860 Munich.
The two football players were listed as unavailable after this weekend. Hummels suffered an injury in the Champions League defeat, 1-2 on the field of Napoli, while Reus was replaced at halftime of the Bundesliga match from this weekend, against Nuremberg, final score 1-1.
But the German tactician is optimistic about the recovery of the two, and hopes to have them available for tonight’s game.
“Mats made a good impression in training,” Klopp told a press conference. “Marco, meanwhile, is getting better. However, he’s still far from being good.”
The dispute between the two teams will take place at the Allianz Arena, the stadium of Dortmund’s great rival, Bayern. Before the match, Borussia tactician requires high concentration of players, aware that they will not meet a modest opponent.
“I’m looking forward to the match. It’s a difficult, yet appealing tie. We are warned. I will analyse the opponent, then we will make our conclusions.” added the 46-year-old coach.
The match between 1860 Munich and Borussia Dortmund will kick-off today, September 24, starting at 19:00 CET.
