Thibaut Courtois is uncertain about which team will play next season. The Belgian goalkeeper claimed he wants the agreement between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid to be resolved as soon as possible.
Chelsea goalkeeper was bought in 2011 from Genk did not get to debut yet for the Londoners. After being transferred to Stamford Bridge, Courtois was loaned to Atletico, the team with which he had three successful seasons.
He won the Europa League, Copa del Rey and the Primera Division title and will now participate with the Belgian national team at the World Cup.
But the 22-year-old is unhappy with the uncertainty of his future, Chelsea and Atletico failing to arrive an agreement about Courtois’ fate.
“I am not sure yet what happens next season,” said Courtois after the game against Barcelona.
“It is a great feeling to be champions of Spain. We have the Champions League final next week and then the World Cup. Now is not the time to think about my future.
“If I move somewhere, I will play. At my age, the most important thing for me, and what I want to do, is to play.
“Petr is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he won the Golden Glove in the Premier League this season. I have a lot of respect for him.
“I have two years [left on my] contract with Chelsea, so we will see what they decide.” concluded Courtois.
