He could be one of the best strikers in the world, but misfortune lurking at every step of his career. Giuseppe Rossi (26) suffered another knee injury that relapse from 2011, and the rise of Fiorentina’s top scorer is endangered.
Italian footballer’s agent, Andrea Pastorello, admits situation demoralized the Viola striker who is depressed lately. His injury is more serious than doctors originally anticipated, but it will take another 2-3 weeks to find out a clear verdict.
“Unfortunately, the situation is not great for Giuseppe. Shock moment passed, but he is depressed and probably awaiting diagnosis grind him. Professor Steadman even could not give a clear verdict on his knee. We can not say anything concrete in this time, but we know it is a second-degree injury to the ligaments,” said Pastorello.
Rossi is likely to sit on the sidelines for several months, after a year and a half was absent due to a cruciate ligament fracture from October 2011.
Vincenzo Montella has already oriented to fill the gap left by Rossi. The Italian tactician has set his sights on AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri, who probably will be loaned at the Artemio Franchi until summer.
