Spanish media announced that Tata Martino will be replaced at the end of this season, no matter what will win the Argentine coach. It seems that Sandro Rosell, Barcelona president, is not happy with the style of play of the team from the Camp Nou.
Martino has covered nearly perfect on the Barca bench this season, winning 23 matches out of 30. The Catalans have lost just two matches, and the team is qualified in the Champions League last 16, where
will play against Manchester City.
Among the names bandied about to come to Barcelona in the summer are two coaches: Luis Felipe Scolari, currently the coach of Brazil, and Frank De Boer, Ajax Amsterdam tactician.
Even though De Boer played at Barcelona (1999-2003), Scolari is favorite to take over the Blaugrana team. It seems that Scolari will leave the Brazilian national football team after the World Cup from next summer to come to Barcelona.
“Rosell has a weakness for Scolari. When he was vice president, was about to sign him, but Laporta opposed. Rosell promised then that when will become president, will bring him to Barcelona. Scolari’s contract with the Brazilian federation ends after the World Cup,” said the journalist Francois Gallardo in a TV show.
Tata Martino came to Barcelona in the summer of 2013, instead of Tito Vilanova. The Argentinian tactician is at his first experience in Europe and if it will not coach to the Nou Camp next season, certainly will not lack for offers from other major club from the Old Continent.
