Tottenham is looking for a coach after the departure of Portugal’s Andre-Villas Boas, who was sacked after the scathing failure with Liverpool, in Premier League, final score 0-5.
Guido Albers, Frank de Boer’s agent, said the Dutch coach is wanted by Spurs’ bosses, who also have the option to continue with interim manager Tim Sherwood, if he will get good results.
“From various sources, I know that Tottenham is currently interested on Frank De Boer. Yet he does not think now about it and just focus on the job at Ajax,” said Albers.
Frank de Boer was about to take on Ajax in last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, missing presence in this stage of the competition after the draw with AC Milan, 0-0, in a match when they needed victory.
There are big chances that De Boer to take the step towards the Premier League. This is because Tim Sherwood has already lost an important match, after which the club has missed an important goal of the season.
Spurs were beaten at home by West Ham in the Capital One Cup, final score 1-2, after Tottenham led 1-0. Certainly this result was not pleasing the chiefs at White Hart Lane, that now will seek a replacement as soon as possible, to not distance by the first places in the Premier League standings.
