The most expensive transfer in football, Gareth Bale, now has the opportunity to play in the most publicized sporting event in the world – El Clasico.
The Wales star was transferred to Real Madrid this summer for about 100 million euros, but until now had not much action with Los Blancos. He had a few minor medical problems that kept him away from the pitch. And Angel Di Maria’s exceptional shape had a worg to say when Ancelotti built the starting line-up.
Today, in the Primera Division, will take place the most watched football game, in which will meet at Camp Nou FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. In the last two games, with Malaga and Juventus, Gareth Bale came off the bench, but he hopes to be part of the first 11 of Madrid in the first El Clasico of his career.
“Will I start? I am not too sure, I have had a few minutes this week and I have had a good week’s training as well so I think I am fit enough and it is up to the manager now whether I play from the start or am on the bench,” he told Sky Sports.
“Am I looking forward to it? Yeah I am sure it will be an amazing experience, the most important thing is we try to win the game and get the three points and I am looking forward to it just like everyone else is.”
Many people believe that will be differences between Bale and Ronaldo, but the 24 year old player said he received full support from Madrid, both from the Portuguese and the other teammates.
“[Ronaldo] has been absolutely amazing with me. He has given me a lot of confidence and I think he has been in the position before so he has been great with me.” said former Tottenham star.
“Everybody has been great in the changing room and I felt very settled straight away and I am just looking forward to kicking on now. I am enjoying everything about Real Madrid at the moment, obviously it was a bit disappointing to get the injury but that is behind me now and I just want to kick on now, play as well as I can and do my best for the team.”
