Although he transferred some top players this summer, Aurelio De Laurentiis is not satisfied with the squad that made available to Rafa Benitez. The Napoli president wants to transfer another three footballers in winter.
Has sold Edinson Cavani to Paris Saint-Germain for around € 63 million, but did not keep the money in the account. De Laurentiis brought fresh forces at Stadio San Paolo, making the most expensive transfer in Serie A this summer – Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid in exchange of 38 million €.
The team is in good position, both in Serie A and in the Champions League, but Napoli’s president says he would have needed three more players, in different departments.
“We have a defender, a full-back and a midfielder on our list if we can find them,” De Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“I have put my money to one side for these signings who we have already outlined. There are situations that could help us improve the squad.”
Napoli’s president did not hesitate to praise the group’s new manager, Rafa Benitez, considering himself very lucky to have had the opportunity to install the Spaniard at the management of the team.
“I won the lottery with Benitez,” he added. “He is managing the squad in the best way possible.” added De Laurentiis.
