Real Madrid’s new manager Carlo Ancelotti is confident that Ronaldo will sign contract extension with the grouping from the Bernabeu. In the contrast, about Higuain was slightly reserved.
The Portuguese star of the Primera Division giants was linked to a return to Manchester United this summer, and Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi made public his desire to transfer Cristiano Ronaldo.
There are two years left from the agreement between Ronaldo and the Blancos grouping, but Ancelotti is almost certainly the striker will sign a contract extension with the team from the Spanish capital.
“Everyone knows that he is a superstar and a great player,” said Ancelotti according the DailyMail.
“The most important thing for the club is that a player of his quality shows the utmost professionalism. That is good, especially for the young players who can see a world-class player working with that attitude. I am not responsible for the renewal of his contract, but it won’t be a problem.” added the Italian tactician.
Another footballer that raised question marks is Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentinean striker was on the verge of signing with Arsenal, but Ancelotti has blocked the deal in the last minute, claiming that wants him in the squad for next season.
“’I have spoken to the player but it was a private conversation. He is currently a Real Madrid player and I am happy to have him here.” Ancelotti said.
Even if the Real made several top acquisitions this summer (Dani Carvajal, Isco and Asier Illarramendi) the subject ‘Gareth Bale’ has not been omitted. But Ancelotti preferred not to make any statement in this regard.
“I am happy with the squad and I don’t want to talk about other players out of respect for those who are here.” concluded the Galacticos’ new boss.
