Mallorca took a step towards saving themselves from relegation zone in the Primera Division rankings, after the 2-1 win against Sevilla, thanks to Alejandro Alfaro, who scored two times against his former team.
The Spanish opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Beto rejected hardly Giovani Dos Santos’ shot from free kick. Beto has avoided the hosts’ 2-0 goal 10 minutes before the end of the first half with a saving intervention at Alfaro’s shot (min 35). Marti could increase the difference for the hosts in the start of the second half with a golazo, but the ball sent by him hit the bar (min 49).
Sevilla restored parity through their top scorer Negredo, who escaped easily of the marking at Rakitic’s pass (min 61).
Alfaro brought the victory for the hosts after a new phase created by Dos Santos: the ball sent with the head by the Mexican came back from the bar to the Spanish, who scored for 2-1.
Thus, Mallorca – Sevilla ended 2-1, goals being scored by Alfaro in minutes 16 and 66 for the hosts, while for the guest has scored Negredo in minute 61. In overtime (90 +3) Javi Marquez was eliminated for the second yellow card, after received the first one in minute 76.
