AC Milan were beaten 1-0 by Juventus in the weekend at home, but coach Filippo Inzaghi is confident in his team and hopes to return with victory in today’s match against Empoli.
The Rossoneri started well this Serie A season and won the first two rounds, 3-1 at home against Lazio and 4-2 away to Parma. But the previous weekend the Diavolo was slain even by great rival Juventus who managed to win after Carlos Tevez’s goal in minute 71.
AC Milan will not participate in any European competition this season, their only concern being the championship and the Coppa Italia. And coach Filippo Inzaghi hopes his team to came back with victory in the game away to Empoli from this evening.
“With the determination we showed against Juventus on Saturday we can go far. We held Juve for 71 minutes and we played a very good game in defence,” Inzaghi told the club’s official website.
“Despite the loss, we left that game with our heads held high. – now we turn our attention to Tuesday’s game.
“We need to play a great match at Empoli in order to beat them.”
In tonight’s game probably will make his appearance in the first XI former Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, who entered the field in the match with Juventus only in the second half.
