Diego Lopez was bought by AC Milan in this summer, and the Real Madrid coach said the Spanish goalkeeper left the Bernabeu club because he wanted stability.
In recent seasons the goalkeeper position was very disputed at Real Madrid. Both Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti have used both Diego Lopez, who played in the Primera Division matches, and Iker Casillas, used in the other gomes.
In this transfer window reached at the Santiago Bernabeu and Keylor Navas from Levante after he showed a very good shape at the World Cup.
Eventually Lopez decided to leave Real and signed vith AC Milan, where the 32 year old shot stopper is a regular in the first XI of Filippo Inzaghi. And Ancelotti said Diego Lopez has gone in Serie A to have more stability.
“In Madrid he was competing for a place with Casillas; he has decided to take on a new challenge, a different style of football in a different league,” Ancelotti told Il Giornale.
“He’s a quality keeper, hard-working and dedicated. He wanted more stability which is why he left Madrid.”
Diego Lopez played in the first match in Serie A for Milan, won 3-1 against Lazio, match in which the Spanish goalkeeper managed to defend a penalty.
