Transferred this summer to Manchester United, the Dutch striker Robin Van Persie announces he’s decided to take a place in his country’s national team in the World Cup 2014 qualifiers.
Van Persie lost his position in the Holland National and was replaced by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but he sent a message to Van Gaal in which it stated that he’s willing to play in any position, just to be among the 11 players sended on the field in the first minute.
The Dutch star gets a dream start to the new team and hope that this will persuade and the new coach.
“I’m available and I just focus on what I do. Where can I play? Does not matter what I think. Only the coach can answer this question. I’m willing to play on almost any post,” said Van Persie, quoted by Algemeen Dagblad.
The striker who has 29 goals in 68 games played for the Oranje, says it is far from giving up to the national team: “I have no intention to retire. Yet I’m extremely honored to represent my country and to be part of the group. That will not ever change, even if I do not play the next matches. “
