The Italian defender Alessandro Nesta, former AC Milan player, will play at Impact Montreal in the next 18 months, announced on Friday the Canadian club from North American Soccer League (MLS), informs AFP.
The 36 years old central defender has 78 selections in Italy’s team. He was world champion in 2006 in Germany, but since then his career was affected by injuries.
He joins to Impact to another fromer Italian international, Marco Di Vaio.
Formed at Lazio, he captained the team that won the title in Italy, in 2000, and won the last edition of the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1999 and European Super Cup in the same year.
Transfered in Milan in 2002, he won the Italian championship Le Scudetto twice (2004 and 2011), UEFA Champions League twice (2003 and 2007), and FIFA Club World Cup in 2007.
