UEFA EURO 2012: Five places still remain

England have joined EURO title holders Spain and Germany, Italy and the Netherlands in qualifying for UEFA EURO 2012. The last five automatic finals places will be settled when the nine group matches end on Tuesday.

Group A
To ensure a play-off place, Belgium, will play in Germany, must take better than Turkey’s result against Azerbaijan. Turkey have the superior head-to-head with Belgium.

Group B
Russia only need a point at home against Andorra to make sure of first place.  Even if Ireland beat Armenia, the match in Dublin is a straight contest for a play-off.

Group C
Italy already secure in top spot. Serbia can still obtain the play-off position by winning in Slovenia.

Group D
France is a point ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Romania is eliminated.

Group E
The Netherlands is already qualified. Sweden will finish second,  a win against the Netherlands would mean automatic qualification as best runners-up.

Group F
Greece back to the top with a two-point lead. A draw in Georgia would ensure the Greeks first place. Croatia still have the possiblity of finishing as best runners-up on goal difference.

Group G
England qualified after a 2-2 draw against Montenegro.

Group H
Denmark must beat Portugal to win the group. Norwaywill meey Cyprus with a hope of second place on goal difference. If Sweden do not beat the Netherlands the best runners-up could well come from this group.

Group I
Spain already assured a place in EURO 2012 final tournament. The Czech Republic, with a better head-to-head record, could still snatch a play-off place by taking more points in Lithuania than Scotland take in Spain.
