British press claims that Tottenham already looking a replacement for Tim Sherwood. The main favorites for the post of head coach at White Hart Lane are Louis van Gaal and Mauricio Pochettino.
Massive investments made by Tottenham last summer have not made no sense. Spurs made transfers of over 120 million euros before this campaign, the London team being only sixth in the Premier League standings with nonexistent chance to catch a Champions League place.
First fault of this failed season was attributed to Andre Villas-Boas, who was sacked after a disastrous start to the Premier League. In his place came Tim Sherwood, the assistant of the Portuguese coach, who signed a 18-month contract.
Sherwood brought a little excitement to the team, but it seems that the chiefs at White Hart Lane are not totally satisfied with the performance achieved by the former English international, which is why they have begun searches.
The number one favourite on the Tottenham’s list is Louis van Gaal, the Dutch tactician that public claiming that he would like to train in the Premier League after the World Cup from this summer. The Netherlands coach met with the Spurs president Levy immediately after the dismissal of Villas-Boas, but he refused to coach two teams at the same time.
The second favorite seems to be Mauricio Pochettino, the Southampton manager. The Argentinian coach has obtained notable performances on the Saints’ bench, where he imposed a style of attractive football that seems to please Tottenham bosses.
Pochettino still has one year of contract with Southampton, and recently refused to sign the extension. There are rumors that exponential players like Luke Shaw or Adam Lallana will leave the team this summer, so we are likely to see Pochettino on the Spurs’ bench next season
