The most interesting clash in Europe to qualify for the World Cup that will take place next year in Brazil is between Portugal and Sweden. Today will be played the first leg of the play-off in Lisbon, starting at 20:45 CET.
The duel that will determine which of the two biggest stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will watch the tournament in front of the TV or from the stands as a spectator, was prefaced by the PSG striker.
In an interview with the Swedish journalists from TV4, Ibrahimovic replied in characteristic style when asked which are the chances of the Sweden national football team to qualify at the expense of the Portuguese. “Only God knows. Talk to him now!” replied Ibrahimovic laughing.
Then the Swedish star returned to a serious tone, but kept optimism in his statement.
“Portugal is probably the favorite because of individualities, but do not forget that our group was won by Germany, which is the best football team in Europe, and they finished second a group that should have win it. That’s why I think we deserve to qualify,” said Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The return leg between Sweden and Portugal will be held on Tuesday, November 19, starting at 20:45 CET. After the two matches that will take place in these days, unfortunately one of the leading candidates to win the Ballon d’Or will be eliminated from the World tournament. At least for Ronaldo, missing the World Cup in Brazil would be a pretty big gap in his record.
