Bayern Munich impresse and under the command of Josep Guardiola, after a difficult start to the season, losing the Germany Super Cup in front of rivals Borussia Dortmund.
Leader in the Bundesliga and with a perfect road in UEFA Champions League after victories with CSKA Moscow and Manchester City, Bayern promise another great season.
“I would say that tiki-taka is now in Bavaria. Bayern playing football that I’ve known in the past in Spain,” said the former Germany international Lothar Matthaus, with direct reference to Josep Guardiola.
Matthaus stressed, however, and another important aspect that can count a lot in the race for the Bundesliga title.
“It happened a few times this season Bayern to be favored by referees and can say that it is protected in some way,” he said.
Matthaus played for the grouping in Munich between 1984 and 1988 and between 1992 and 2000, after a period spent in Italy at Inter.
In the last round of the Bundesliga, Bayern made an excellent game against Leverkusen, match played away, even if they didn’t manage to win the game. It ended 1-1, but the team led by Pep Guardiola was the one who led the match, with many opportunities to score and get home all three points.
