The new manager of Manchester City striker has included the 27 years old footballer in his future plans, and is eager to see what he’s capable to offer the Bosniak striker. The Chilean tactician revealed and the training program of the Citizens.
Edin Dzeko has been the target of speculation that saw him leave the club from the Etihad Stadium this summer. Former manager Roberto Mancini chose to keep him on the bench a long period, being an impact solution for the Premier League outfit. But Pellegrini wants to give him the chance to show what he’s capable, and will rely on his services from the first minutes.
“I spoke two weeks ago with Dzeko when he was on holiday and he does not have any problems,” said former Malaga boss.
“He will stay here. For me, he’s a very important player. I’m sure that he will give this year the performances to show what he can do.”
Manchester City are now in camp, and Sunday will hold a friendly match against the Super Sport United. Pellegrini did not hesitate to reveal the training program that have the team at this time.
“The most important thing at the moment is the fitness and they’re working very hard with Jose Cabello. In terms of football, they’re just playing small games of six or seven-a-side with one touch, but nothing more. I’ve not had a problem with them. It’s logical that at the beginning they ask a lot of different things. They’ve worked very hard with us and they’re comfortable with each other.”
