Mino Raiola, the well-known agent and at the same time Ibrahimovic’s representative, believes that the Swede would remain main footballer at PSG, even if the Ligue 1 champion would bring Cavani on the Parc des Princes.
Last team that entered the race for the signature of Edinson Cavani is Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 champions making an offer close to the buy-out clause that the Uruguayan striker it has in his contract with Napoli – € 63 million.
Some experts have argued that if this transfer will be done, the star of the team from Serie A would go head to head with the Ligue 1 top scorer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
But the Swede’s agent feels otherwise. He believes that the arrival of Cavani at the Parc des Princes would help France champion to form a feared couple of strikers in Europe.
“Of course, Ibra and Cavani would make a great duo. Although, Zlatan would remain the club’s main man.” said Mino Raiola for the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Cavani to PSG,? For me, is difficult to see being completed because of the € 63 million buy-out clause.” added Ibra’s agent.
Cavani leads the list of acquisitions of major clubs in world football likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea or Manchester City. All three, plus the group in Paris, already submitted offers for the 26 years old Uruguayan international. But none has reached the € 63 million, the amount ‘nailed shut’ by Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Napoli.
Cavani’s understanding with the team form the Stadio San Paolo expires in 2017.
